GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Ion Dragusin, 56 of Grand Ledge, MI, born February 5, 1964 in Bailesti, Romania, passed away December 26, 2020. Ion was a devoted employee of Transfast Trucking, where he took great pride in his work, relationships with his fellow co-workers, and made sure every customer was well taken care of.
As a young boy, Ion enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandfather. He grew up with a love for nature, including his farm animals, which he loved caring for. Any chance he could get he would either sit outside or take a walk just so he could hear and see the beauty around him. As he grew into adolescence, he took an interest in soccer. Ion loved to be the center of attention, always trying to make someone laugh, or show off his skills that he was proud of. One of the things he had a lot of pride in was his ability to fix and tinker on things, especially when it involved cars. He took pride in the fact that ever since the age of 18, when he got his license, he was able to repair what was wrong with his car just by the noises it was making.
As he grew, he got married to his wife, Valeria, in 1985. Ion has two children whom he loved with all that he could. His first, Claudia, in which he was so proud when she first started to play the violin, he loved to hear her play any chance that he could get. His second child was Darius, he followed in his father’s footsteps and grew up with a love for soccer. Ion could not have been prouder when his son finally entered the pro league in his soccer team. He would go to every home game to cheer for his son, and he would make sure to get a seat front and center so he could make sure he was heard the loudest cheering in the stands.
He had many adventures in life, but his greatest joy was seeing his grandchildren. His daughter has three boys, and one daughter. His son has one daughter. He loved them dearly and held them close to his heart. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by all his grandchildren, and he would always try to impart wisdom to them in hopes that it will help them in the future. Even though some of his wisdom did not make sense to them at that time, they will remember his words and think of him.
His love for his family was so strong that his final wishes were to see all his grandchildren, and family one last time. God granted him that wish. God allowed him to fight for one last Christmas, enough to see his entire family together one last time. He will be missed dearly. We all love you Grasu!
He is preceded in death by his mother, Constanta (Enache) Dragusin. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Valeria, daughter Claudia (Iani) Florian, son Fabian (Rebecca) Dragusin; grandchildren: Vanessa, Emanuel, Fabian, Flavius, and Bella; father Florea Dragusin, sister Cristiana (Florin) Marinescu and brother Daniel (Diana) Dragusin.
