Obituary for Karen Sue Wilber

Karen Sue Wilber (Kidd), 78, of Dimondale, Michigan, passed away on October 10, 2020, with loved ones by her side. Karen was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on October 22, 1941. She attended Mount Pleasant Public schools and Central Michigan University. She devoted her career to enriching the lives of adults with disabilities at TriCounty Community Mental Health. Karen’s faith was evident in the way she lived her life.
She was a youth group leader, active in Sunday School, and sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church of Dimondale. Karen and Bill’s home was always open. The Wilberness, as it is affectionately known, has always been a safe haven for all. Karen was never known to turn away anyone, rambunctious teenagers or stray animals alike.
She enjoyed gardening, Bible study, supporting her grandkids’ activities, and caring for her beloved dog Frostie.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill, her son David Wilber (Jeanne Wald), her daughter Allison Kyro (Jeff Kyro), and her grandkids; Natalie Kyro, Lillian Kyro, Cecilia Wilber, and Kelton Kyro.
A private memorial service will be broadcast live on the First Presbyterian Church of Dimondale’s Facebook page on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers consider making a donation in her memory to First Presbyterian Church of Dimondale. The family is being served by the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge.
