Obituary for Phyllis Mae Klingbiel

Phyllis Mae Klingbiel, 89, lifetime resident of Grand Ledge, MI, passed away at home on August 15, 2018. She was born December 25, 1928 in Grand Ledge, daughter of Howard and Ethel (Morgan) Sanborn. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Sanborn and grandson Graeme (Rozich) Klingbiel.
Phyllis married Herbert Klingbiel on December 26, 1949 in Grand Ledge. Both shared Christmas birthdays. She was a 1947 graduate of Grand Ledge and a lifelong member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
She will miss her children: Herbert Jeffrey (Arlene) Klingbiel, Lynn (Rich) Corrigan and David H. (Lisa) Klingbiel. She truly with all her heart loved her grandchildren: Jeffrey (Allison) Peake, Jeremy (Kristina) Peake, Dr. Amy Corrigan (Greg Millman), Jeffrey (Jamie) Klingbiel, Ted (Jennifer) Keusch, Jack and Steven Klingbiel; great grandchildren: Grayson and Adelyn Peake, Megan and Emma Peake, and Ryan Klingbiel. Thanks to my grandkids for all the great times at hockey, soccer, track, volleyball, cross country, baseball, golf, gymnastics, basketball, singing and band. What a wonderful life.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Reasearch Foundation (JDRF) or United Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Online condolences may be shared at
