Obituary for Raymond F. York

Raymond F. York, 56, of Bath, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 24, 2020. He was born November 30, 1964 in Hartford, Connecticut to David York and Geraldine (Gilligan) Schimmeyer. Ray was a Plant Operator and Safety Technician for the Lansing Board of Water & Light and proudly served in both the United States Navy and Marine Corps. He was a member of the Bath American Legion Post 412. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren who he adored.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, uncle Patrick Gilligan and brother-in-law, William Darnell. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Eva; daughters Lischelle York and Alanna York; grandchildren Bentley Baird and Elijah Hendy; brothers David, Joseph (Kimberly) and Robert (Katrina) York; sister Kimberly (Chris) Bozin; sister-in-law Ellie Darnell; aunts and uncles Edna (Richard) Johnson, Robert (Jacky) York, Mickey (Bev) Gilligan and Margie Gilligan; nieces and nephews Jakob, Marissia and Teagan York, Zachary and Nicholas Bozin, Dominique, Craig and Duncan Darnell, Jared (Kelli) Holt and their son Jackson and Zach and Noah Truxton; step-parents Sheila York and Paul Schimmeyer; mother-in-law and father-in-law Alma Cameron and Dan (Denise) Griffith and numerous cousins.

Cremation has taken place. No services will be held at this time. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Peters & Murray Funeral Home in Grand Ledge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Navy Marine-Corps Relief Society at Online condolences may be shared at
