Obituary for Raymond Harold Murray

Raymond H. Murray, age 83, of Dimondale, MI, passed away on June 6, 2020. He was born May 19, 1937 in Lansing, MI, son of Claude H. Sr. and Dorothy (Robbins) Murray.

Ray was a retired supervisor of the Eaton County Road Commission; served in the United States Air Force, and proudly served for 50 years as a volunteer fireman for Windsor Township Emergency Services. Having grown up on the family farm, Ray loved farming and tractors. He also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and camping with family. Ray had a great since of humor and enjoyed telling jokes! His wittiness and laughter will forever be missed.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rodney (Cathy) Murray, daughter Deborah Best, daughter-in-law Cyndi Murray; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brothers Claude H. Jr. and Thomas (Phyllis) Murray, sister-in-law Kathy Murray, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet, son Robert Murray, brother Ralph, and sister-in-law Janet.

Out of respect and concern for public health and safety, the family has chosen to postpone services. A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the Windsor Township Fireman’s Assoc., 300 West Jefferson St., Dimondale, MI, 48821 or Heartland Hospice in memory of Raymond Murray.
